One of the best free downloads! Lovely and lyrical.

One of my favorite free Amazon downloads, in heavy rotation on my playlist. I've liked her solo work since she sang "The Bluest Eyes in Texas" on the Boys Don't Cry movie soundtrack. It is finding songs like these that keeps me coming back to your free downloads. Thanks, Amazon!

Cool Tune

It's a pleasant song. The singer has a nice voice and the song is relaxing. I liked it a lot in the beginning, lost a little interest as the song progressed, but it was better than a lot of stuff out there if you like the peaceful female vocalist style. There are definitely better songs out there, but it's still quite enjoyable.

A sweet ballad, and it's free

I'm not sure about her other stuff, but this song's a worthwhile addition to your collection, especially since it's free. It's a nicely done ballad; it's not too sappy or saccharine, her voice isn't too whiny or emotional. It's just right, and a good addition to my "Sleepy" playlist.

Beautiful voice, beautiful lyrics

About 2/3 of the way into this song the energy level increases a bit and the song becomes somewhat reflective, with Nina having already sung the lyrics. I really loved her voice, it's very pure. I'll be looking into more of her work in the future.

Lyrics:
Night can't come quick enough
My faults shine in the sun
A train bridge of spies
watches all the cars collide

I roll my green sleeves over ruby
I don't blame you for doing it to me
Real girls don't take aim
like kings do these days

I made my mind up to be a black-winged bird
Never turn my head for how things were
Leave the bluest skies for boys to burn

And I'll soar on my way
Sad as the state of things we can't change

Now were paper dolls all aflame
In houses that all look the same
Rows of regret
An arson for a wilderness

I hide my saints in the willow trunk
You started me on this junk
Now my black lungs are blue
But I'm still singing to you
I'm still singing to you...

A (love)fool for Nina

Reviewed by Hermione Granger, 2009-02-10

When I heard that this song was done by the Cardigans' lead singer, I just had to download it. "Lovefool" brings back a lot of memories, because it was really popular in my early high school days and my friends and I used to sing it all the time to annoy each other (although I loved it). Nina's solo effort is quite good, and it is clear that she can sing well on her own, although she occasionally sounds a little nasally. The lyrics are quite thought provoking for a pop song. I hope Nina keeps performing.
